Yana and Oleksandr Chertkov

We are a couple, a team, and parents of a large family. Everything you see at Chertkov Academy was born from our shared path—through sport, parenting, challenges, travel, teamwork, long days and late nights planning events—and a deep love for the work we’re building together.

Yana Chertkova is the organiser behind all Academy operations and events. A mother of four, manager, event producer, designer—formerly an administrator and now a strategist. She’s the person whose work often goes unseen, yet nearly every process rests on her shoulders: from communications and social media to camps, celebrations, and the overall atmosphere of the space.

Oleksandr Chertkov is the Academy’s head coach, a Sensei (3rd Dan), seven-time Champion of Ukraine, European and Asian Championships medallist, and World Championships competitor. His experience in martial arts spans more than 35 years. He journeyed from self-training in the courtyard to building a strong school, where he has coached more than 2,000 students and mentored champions and the next generation of coaches who carry this philosophy, these values, and high moral standards into the world.
